PowerBuilder 10.0 entrega un alto nivel de productividad para los desarrolladores, con soporte J2EE y Microsoft.Net a través de una estrecha integración de diseño, modelamiento, desarrollo, despliegue y administración.

El producto ofrece ricas funcionalidades y capacidades para los ambientes J2EE y Microsoft.NET, tecnología DataWindow de Sybase, 4GL e integración con PowerDesigner de Sybase, una herramienta de modelamiento empresarial líder del mercado.

“PowerBuilder 10.0 ofrece a la comunidad de desarrolladores Sybase mucho poder y 4GL fácil de utilizar”, dijo Raj Nathan, vicepresidente senior del Grupo Infraestructure Technology & Solutions de Sybase.

En tanto, Stephen D.Hendrick, vice presidente del grupo de Desarrollo de Application Development y Deployment Research de IDC, aseguró que “Sybase PowerBuilder 10.0 debería traer un nuevo nivel de simplicidad al desarrollo de aplicaciones”.

Las nuevas capacidades de PowerBuilder 10.0 incluyen:
-Soporte Unicode. Los desarrolladores que escriban aplicaciones internacionales pueden visualizar caracteres multibyte dentro de una sola fila de DataWindow.
-XML Web Data Window. Sybase Data Window ha sido resintonizada y su arquitectura revisada para mayor rendimiento, escalabilidad y extensión.
-Soporte Microsoft .NET. Acceso simplificado a datos .NET y operaciones complejas de bases de datos con interfaces PowerBuilder ADO.NET.
-Soporte para Interface Active Accesability de Microsoft. Los desarrolladores pueden construir rápidamente aplicaciones para usuarios finales con incapacidades.
-Application Refactoring y Modelamiento de Objetos. Los desarrolladores pueden extender y modificar aplicaciones existentes para nuevos usos en diferentes arquitecturas con el plug-in para PowerDesigner.
