Total Commander is a file manager replacement that offers multiple language support, search, file comparison, directory synchronization, quick view panel with bitmap display, ZIP, ARJ, LZH, RAR, UC2, TAR, GZ, CAB, ACE archive handling plus plugins, built-in FTP client with FXP, HTTP proxy support, and more.

- Configurable main menu.
- Built in file viewer (Lister) to view files of ANY SIZE in hex, binary or text format, using either the ASCII- (DOS) or the ANSI- (Windows) character set. The line width and font size can now be changed. You can even view files inside archives! New: Support for Unicode UTF-8 format.

Total Commander comes in the following languages: English, German, French, Italian, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Spanish, Czech, Russian, Polish, Hungarian, and now also Hebrew, Greek, Afrikaans, Catalan, Turkish and Ukrainian! The help is available in English, German and French (separately).

Changes in version 7.02 Final:
This is a bugfix version, which mainly fixes bugs found after the release of Total Commander 7.01 final. It also fixes a security hole in the FTP client (directory traversal vulnerability: special file names containing backslashes and dots could lead TC to download the file to a different location than planned). If you use FTP in Total Commander, we recommend that you install the update as soon as possible! The 16-bit version for Windows 3.1 has also been updated to version 6.57 to fix some errors and the security problem. There is also a32-bit version 6.57 for all who can't or don't want to switch to the new 7.x version.

The most important new features in version 7.02 are:
* FTP over SSL/TLS improvements
* Update Total Commander's environment variables when the system variables are changed (e.g. via Control Panel - System). Works on WinNT-based systems only
* FTP transfers: If transferred file is smaller than expected, re-request file size of remote file with SIZE. If still different, report error (can be turned off).
* F5 - F2 during an FTP connection now adds the files to an already open background transfer manager
* .tab files now also support environment variables
* Alias commands now support additional parameters %A1...%A9
