Tag&Rename is a handy utility designed for music files management. With Tag&Rename you can quickly and easily rename your music collection using the embedded tag data, write new or edit existing tag information, create tags based on file names, get songs information from freedb/amazon.com servers and mach more.
Tag&Rename supports many additional tag fields including lyrics, cover art, rating, mood, disc #, part of a compilation, album artist, classical music fields (Composer, Conductor, etc.), file related URL's and so on.
Tag&Rename now support: mp3 (ID3v1, ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags), MusePack mpc/mp+ (APEv1, APEv2 and ID3v1 tags), Windows Media - wma, asf and wmv files, Ogg Vorbis/Flac/Speex (vorbis comments), Apple iTunes and iPod aac (m4a) files including mp4, lossless m4a and protected m4p files, most popular lossless codecs including Monkey’s Audio, Flac, Wav Pack, Optim Frog, True Audio, Apple and Windows Media lossless formats. Tag&Rename include full Unicode support.
With Tag&Rename, you can:
- automatically fix and complete file tags using online freedb database,
- load titles and cover art from amazon.com server,
- get tags data from file names and its folders structures,
- rename your music files and folders according to its music information in a batch,
- create play lists,
- export files information to CSV, HTML, XML and text formats and more.
Changes in Tag&Rename 3.3 beta 2 (12/02/2006):
- added support for cover art in flac files (PICTURE METADATA BLOCK)
- added support for cover art in ogg and speex files (base64 encoded)
- added "Composer" field in filters
- added .m4v files extension support
- while renaming music files Tag&Rename now also rename .cdg files with similar to music files names
- now Tag&Rename write mp3 and wma rating compatible with Windows Media Player (if in WMP enabled option "Maintain my star rating as global ratings in the media file")
- added support for "Remixed by" tag field
- added support for .m3u8 play lists - Unicode UTF8 encoded
- added many auto update ID3v1 tag settings in program options -> "Advanced"
- added "DJ style tag editor" option - show "Label" and "Remixed by" fields in main tag editor tab)
- initial Windows Vista support
- fixed bug in m4a tags reading (some genres reading)
- fixed incompatibility problem with NVIDIA nView
- a lot changes in program files list
- many minor fixes and improvements
