Convenient Windows login solution, allowing to securely login to Windows PCs using a smart card or USB flash drive compatible with any biometric device and USB token. The smart card or USB drive is used to lock the computer whenever it is left unattended.

Dekart Logon offers native support for Microsoft Windows 9x/2000, XP, Windows Server 2003 and close integration with Microsoft Active Directory and Novell eDirectory.

-- How user authentication works:
1. The user connects his smart card or USB flash drive to his computer (or to any workstation in the domain) and is then prompted for a PIN code. If an invalid PIN is entered more than 3 times, the smart card or USB drive is blocked, thus the Windows login is not further possible.
2. After successfully entering the correct PIN (and, optionally, providing the user’s biometric data), the user is logged into the computer (or domain) and has access to his Windows resources without having to type in their username or password.
3. Whenever the user temporarily leaves the computer, they can temporarily lock the computer by simply disconnecting the smart card or USB flash disk.
